Steve is an Arizona native and a journeyman pipe fitter, welder, and excavator by trade—someone who understands the work from the ground up, literally.

Braun has grown with Southern Arizona Pools over the years, starting on the landscaping crew and working his way through special projects, shotcrete, warranty and repair, and now into a superintendent role. Gil the Gila Monster is a desert native who claims he turned down a “major insurance opportunity” after his second cousin—yes, that GEICO Gecko—beat him to the audition and he didn’t get a call back. Undeterred, Gil pivoted to luxury pools, where his heat tolerance, sharp instincts, and questionable advice about sunscreen somehow translate into elite backyard design insight.
He insists he’s not bitter, just “selectively unavailable for British accents and fifteen-minute quotes.” Now he spends his days guiding clients through the SoAZ process, proving that sometimes the better career move is trading car insurance for cannonballs.

Roy has spent his career across multiple facets of the pool industry in both Tucson and Phoenix, building a well-rounded depth of experience. As a seasoned designer and superintendent, he understands how to turn plans into reality without losing the intent behind the vision. John is SoAZ Pools’ certified GreenThumb, with plants quite literally in his DNA—he’s the son of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum’s lead horticulturalist. After years of running his own nursery, he brings deep botanical knowledge and a sharp eye for landscape design to every project.
John specializes in sourcing and integrating exotic “specimen” plants that elevate outdoor spaces into something truly unique. If it grows in the desert, he can find it and transform your yard into a living showpiece.

Itzel has spent her entire adult career in the pool industry, building deep experience across scheduling, procurement, accounting, and material design. Today, she coordinates construction across all SoAZ projects, managing equipment and materials with precision and foresight.

Albert spent twenty years managing commercial inventory and international logistics before bringing that precision into the pool industry. Already a seasoned designer and draftsman, he leads the SoAZ construction planning and permitting department with a steady, detail-driven approach. His experience and strong local relationships help keep projects moving smoothly through the often-complex pre-construction phase. With Albert at the helm, the groundwork gets handled quickly, efficiently, and the right way the first time.

John H. brings 16 years of banking and finance experience, with a strong focus on supporting small businesses in the Tucson community. Since joining SoAZ in 2020, he’s transformed the financial side of the company, applying a sharp, strategic approach to support its rapid growth.
